PICTURE BOOK CLASSIC EXTENSIONS
Our Picture Book Classic Learning Cards are beautifully color illustrated in a style reminiscent of high quality children's picture books. All labeling is done in black using lower case manuscript / print. The printing is done on card stock, and the finished product is laminated using 5 mil film. Corners are rounded for safety. Keyword vocabulary is used from select children's picture books. However, illustrations and vocabulary are generic enough to be used with any children's book of the same theme or independently. For example, our Pen Pal card set is based on keyword vocabulary from "Frog and Toad - The Letter," by Arnold Lobel, but can be used with any book about the mail or friendship, or independently as part of a classroom pen pal theme.

  • Three Part Cards -- Three-part cards allow the child to match picture-to-picture, word-to-word.
  • Picture Matching Cards -- Picture matching cards build visual discrimination skills; and when used as a concentration game, challenge visual memory.
  • Comparison Cards -- Comparison cards build observational and visual discrimination skills as the child looks for likenesses and differences.
  • Sequencing Cards -- Sequencing cards develop logical thinking skills as the child places the cards in sequential order to tell a story.
  • Lotto Board Games -- Lottos are picture-matching games for two (or one) that develop language, observational and social skills.
  • Riddles -- Riddles are fun to solve and promote discovery. Picture clues and simple rhyming text encourage young readers.
